Joshua demonstrates his faith in God as He follows the orders given to Him and takes leadership of the nation. Joshua truly was “strong and courageous” (1:7).
The Bible has many very important ‘buts’ in it. A big ‘but’ can change everything. Here are some of them: Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, BUT the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Did you know that prayer can be dangerous? Dangerous prayers are prayers with consequences. Prayers that we ought to pray but that we also need to realize that that prayer which we pray might just be answered by God. Prayers that will change you.
“Authentic Christianity” sermon theme: What does authentic Christianity look like? What are the marks of a genuine follower of Jesus Christ?
Gladiators sermon theme: Like the ancient Roman gladiators, we don’t get to choose the arenas we fight in, but we do get to choose how we will fight, and to what honor we will uphold. We don’t get to choose the circumstances in our lives, but we do get to choose how we will respond to them.
Teach through the book of Acts with the “Band of Believers” theme. The book of Acts gives the history of the Christian church and the spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ, as well as the mounting opposition to it. It’s an account of ordinary and common people who witnessed extraordinary things as they bound their hearts together with a single purpose.
The Great Commission wasn’t the Good Suggestion. The Church is here to GO into the world, not wait for the world to come to us. God has chosen us to be a small part of His larger narrative in the world. But small doesn’t imply insignificant. Nobody can tell your story. Nobody can fill your shoes. GO!
Lead people out of consumer Christianity and help them recapture the missional journey of making disciples by teaching them how to ‘ReOrient’ their lives around the person, mission, and fame of Jesus Christ.
Our image of God is the most important thing about us. It affects how we see ourselves and how we derive our self-identity in relationship to the bigger picture of life.
